Do you guys think it's worth it upgrading from the RTX 2070 (Not Super) Windforce 3x to the RTX 3070 Eagle ?
I want a solid card for 1440p 144hz gaming
By the information I saw it should give me ~50% better performance

What do you personally think, if the 3070 was acually the same performance as the 2080 ti. Would you upgrade from the 2070 to it ?
I would have to wait for benchmarks - I'm sorry. After Nvidia's claims about Ampere's performance turned out to be lies...
It it does turn out to be true, then great, and jokes on the folks who bought 2080Tis for 1200USD+; the most heavily price inflated halo card since... the GTX 690.

I know halo cards aren't about value, but the price jump should still have made people 'fall out their chairs'. Plus the performance improvement over last gen's halo... :pfff:
2080Ti - 1080Ti: 70% higher cost, 30% higher performance on average
1080Ti - 980Ti: 10% higher cost, 70% higher performance on average
980Ti -...

Definitely. It's obviously better than the 2070 super, but in the end it comes down to your budget. If you sold your 2070 super, and then bought the 3070, then that's your best bet. It's probably going to handle 1440p at 144hz seamlessly, so I would highly recommend it.

A few things to note, however:
What wattage is your psu?
What kind of cpu do you have?

Not sure about 50% better but should be in that area, but good luck getting one.

I'd say wait for 3000 super or 4000. Spending $500 would serve you much better then. 3070 is not a worthy upgrade for 2000 series users
We need benchmarks. I went from a 2080 Super to 3080 which is about a 50-60% boost in performance and allows me to use Ray Tracing at 1440p. It’s a decent upgrade. Going from a 2070 (non Super) to 3070 could be a similar uplift or maybe more. As for waiting I wouldn’t expect to see a Super/Ti variant for at least 9-12 months after initial launch if NVidia follow prior series timelines. 4000 series is likely 2 years away.

Personally I found the 2080 Super underwhelming at 1440p 144Hz and am very pleased with the upgrade. I can see why someone using a 2070 may be very keen to upgrade for 1440p 144Hz.

So in conclusion, should I sell my 2070 and buy the 3070 if I want smooth 144hz 1440p gameplay in most game, or wait for benchmarks and then buy if it really as fast as the rtx 2080ti in non Raytracted titles ?
The DLSS+Ray Tracing is really a promising concept too, the RTX 3070 has 2x CUDA cores and ~20% more RT cores then the 2070 and in some tests I saw (Not of the rtx 3070) using DLSS+Ray Tracing gave better results than not using any DLSS and Ray Tracing.
I know the 1.0 version of DLSS was BAD but 2.0 (and 2.1 in the future) look really good.

Yeah, still a bit of a stretch, so it must be game specific.

Good luck getting one, if Zerk2012's link is anything to go by... like seriously, you'll need it, if you're looking to get it on day one.
I live in Poland... the prices here and CRAZY
Like the i7 8700k and the i9 9990k cost the same
The RTX 3080 cost around 900-1000$ and the 3070 will be 700-750$
But we've had no shortage on cards, you can even still buy the 3080/3090 here

Well, alright then.
I'll still wish you luck. Who knows, your fellow Polish could've have the idea to wait for the 3070 instead simply because of the price.

So uhh... yeah...
I have to wait and see benchmarks.
