My current specs are as follows:
Core2 Duo E6400 @ 2.13GHz
2GB DDR2 (slower than 800MHz)
Nvidia Geforce 7900GS
I want to upgrade my PC at some stage but money is clearly an issue. In the meantime I would like to be able to play new games like Modern Warfare 2 (new call of duty coming out in Nov).
My current setup handled CoD4 OK at mid-settings but CoD:WaW struggled even at low settings.
My question is: If I upgrade my GPU to a Ati Radeon HD4770 will I experience much better performance in games like these without a CPU upgrade?
Ultimately I will replace my setup with an i5 home-built but in the meantime it would be nice to have a good performing PC without incurring huge cost. Overclocking is currently not an option due to my PC being a Dell (XPS 410).
Other question: Will my 375W power supply be able to cope? I.E. does the 4770 use much more power than the 7900GS?
