Question Upgrading Help With AMD

I have a AMD dual core a9-9420 APU with radeon r5 and I am wanting to upgrade my GPU without upgrading my processor or sould I upgrade both? any help or tips?

I was thinking 1050ti or the 1060.

Run this test first:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

Your cpu is weak for gaming so I suspect that you need both a cpu and a gpu upgrade to do better.

@geofelt @ExiledBard ya I did the test and my CPU is weak, so I need a upgrade, do you guys have any recommendation as to what CPU I should get or anything I need to know before installing a gpu and a cpu.

you can , but you wont notice any difference.... also its all second hand hand because its 6+ years old.
