[SOLVED] Upgrading ram

Hey i currently have Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB 3600 MHz AMD Ryzen Tuned DDR4 and was thinking of upgrading to 32gb. Do i have to buy the exact same ram and do i need to do anything once installing it? Thanks.

Ideally you buy a 32gb kit. Even buying the same make and model does not guarantee it will work without issues. RAM is sold in matched kits for a reason. It might work but you are doing your own testing. Also if you are thinking of going from 2 sticks to 4 you are more likely to be limited to a lower speed.

Damn that makes me sad, was hoping to just put another 16gb in and it would be fine.

If you actually use more than 16 GB you'd still see improvements with 32 GB even at slower speeds. Slow DDR4 is still faster than swapping to disk, even on fast SSDs
