Hey folks! I plan to upgrade from a third gen i5 3550 (non K ) to a Skylake. Usage would be mostly gaming and some video editing. I don't plan to overclock. My initial thoughts are either a 6600 or a 6500 (non K) but I'm not sure which one to get. How much does a 6600 perform over a 6500, is it worth the extra $$ for my needs?

In gaming, he won't gain anything by upgrading. But, video editing is more CPU intensive and he will benefit from new tech. However, unless you do a lot of video editing I'd suggest sticking to a i5. Should you upgrade the CPU? That's your choice.

If you are doing video editing weekly I'd go i7.
