[SOLVED] USB 2 and 3!!!

I would love any help! Basically I would love to get usb headset but my USB ports are full, but I have 5 spare usb 3 ports. Will my keyboard and mouse work with usb 3 I am wondering? Will plugging the keyboard and mouse into a usb 3 port work and no damage done? I am really confused, and is usb 3 backwards compatible? Thank you

yes it is backward compatible.

plug them into whatever ports you have open. no damage to worry about. the difference is speed and amount of power the port can put out. a 2.0 device will just use less speed and ask for less power than a 3.0 device. otherwise they are fundamentally the same
