USB C Dock and Power

I have a samsung chromebook pro. I want to be able to use it docked on a bigger monitor sometimes so I bought an Aukey USB C adapter like this one:

When I plug in my laptop's power charger into that dock the laptop says it wont charge at normal speed. Is this a normal issue or is it something wrong with the dock? Do I need a more powerful charger? Anyone had USB C issues like this?

I haven't researched but Samsung products often use QuickCharge technology (QC2 or QC3) and I don't see it mentioned on this device; which makes perfect sense because it uses unused wiring , like data paths/wiring, to put them to work for additional charging.
