I plan to buy one of these to convert the USB-C port of Acer Nitro on the back to a USB-A port. I know the laptop has 3 USB A ports but I have my own reasons.

Can I use one of these to convert the port and connect my USB hub? My current old USB hub uses USB-A and buying a USB-C hub would cost me more so I'd prefer to not buy a new one. The power supply is not an issue since the USB hub has its own power adapter. Thanks in advance for your response and for taking the time to read this.

Btw these are the specs of the laptop.

And also these are the details pertaining to the USB-c port:
USB Type-C port supporting: USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps), DisplayPort over USB-C, Thunderbolt 4, USB charging 5 V; 3 A, DC-in port 20 V; 65 W

Yes, this adapter will work for that. However, there MAY be another issue. You say you plan to use "My current old USB hub ..." which has a Type A connector on its input cable. BUT is that an older USB2 Hub, or a newer USB 3 Hub? IF it is USB2, then ALL of the devices you plug into that Hub will be able to share a combined older USB2 speed max of 0.47 Gb/s, whereas any USB3 Hub can work at 5 Gb/s (the lowest max rating for USB 3.2 Gen1). IF you are using only a USB2 Hub, you would be better to connect it to a USB2 port of your computer, and save the fast USB 3.2 Gen2 port of your laptop for faster devices. Does your laptop have any USB2 port?

All 3 ports are USB-3

I don't really care about the transfer speeds since the 2.0 USB hub only has my peripherals connected to it.

There is a single USB port on the left and two on the right.

The two on the right have external HDDs plugged into them. well, the left one I do not use it. It obstructs the mouse you see.
