Wasn't sure which forum to put this on. It is networking, sort of. Anyway, . . .

I have just bought a netbook, and now want to transfer data to and from my PC. This will happen on a regular basis, and I don't want to use a USB memory stick for this. I want to be able to connect directly, and pick up files and transfer in either direction using USB.
Can I do this ?
Can I make my own USB crossover cable, or are they something special.
There are only 4 wires. I was thinking of disconnecting the two power wires, then crossing over the two
data wires (green and white). Will this work ?
Anyone done this ?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks. Not as simple as I hoped. 🙁 The price of that cable seems expensive. I've found something similar for about £6.
Thanks again.
