[SOLVED] USB keyboard not working on old pc

I recently bought an USB keyboard Genius Slimstar 126 for my older computer. Unfortunately it doesn't work with that old pc. It doesn't work in neither system (I tried Win 7 and Linux Mint) or the BIOS. However if I plug it into my newer laptop or PC, it works completely fine. Other USB keyboards work with that computer, just this one doesn't.

I tried different ports and USB legacy support in bios is enabled.

How is it possible that pc does not recognize this keyboard?

Motherboard: MSI K9N6SGM-V
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+

Solution
The only time you have to worry about a USB keyboard not working is if you're going way back, like to Windows 98. If the keyboard isn't working on something like Windows 7, either the keyboard is defective or should be tossed because no USB keyboard should require any software to function as a basic keyboard.
Any error messages or pop-up windows?

There simply may not be drivers available for running the newer keyboard on the older PC.

Or the installed drivers are incorrect.

FYI:

Slimstar 126 does not appear to be listed.

Try another older version driver.

Thank you for your answer!

Windows 7 says "USB device not recognized" and then fails to install drivers.
I didn't find any drivers for that keyboard.

On the box of the keyboard there is a recommendation to install their SmartGenius app but the keyboard is not supported. I don't get it.

If I buy another keyboard how can I know that it will work?
