Question USB LAN Card Issue

Hey thanks for the time and any help given.

I just upgraded to win 10 from win 7, and I haven’t been able to connect to the internet since upgrading. I use a totolink LAN card n150ua; 802.11n type. PC is a dell optiplex 990.

I updated the drivers for the card and all my usb drivers are up to date. I’ve tried resetting the “wlan autoconfig” in services and after I disabled it and restarted, strangely my card was enabled, but as soon as I changed the startup type to automatic and started the service back up it was disabled again.

Dev manager says the card is working properly, but I don’t really know what I’m doing and I’m just confused at this point. I don’t know if I can get this card to work or if I’ll have to get a different one/Ethernet cable.

It might be worth contacting Microsoft. Maybe you upgraded but you didn’t update to the latest version of Windows 10. What version of windows 10 are you running?

I have Windows 10 Pro, Version 1909

Confirm this is the driver you downloaded and installed ? https://www.totolink.com.my/technical_files.php?id=65l Also, once you have the USB wirless lan connected, you may need to remote your modem and/or router so it will connect correctly.

Version 5 ran fine, but the network connection is still disabled, and won’t enable. I tried the version 3 as well, but the installshield freezes and crashes.

I would try the driver I linked asa your link does not appear to be an totlinks web site (.com vs .net) When I tried to access your link I got a security alert; it might mean nothing, but it's worth trying another driver.

I would try that driver, but that card is 802.11ac type, it’s much faster than mine. I found a link to the drivers on their “.com.my” website here:

If this doesn’t work since I just network reset, I’ll reset again and try that one.
