I recently purchased a 128MB USB Pen Drive, got a great deal through Ebay. No matter if I use this device on my laptop or on my desktop the first time I plug it in the computers identify the unit and assign it a drive letter. However after removing the pen drive and then connecting it back to the PCs then my Desktop will detect it, however it will not assign a drive letter to it again, my laptop will both detect and reasign a drive letter, and yes I click on the safely remove system bar icon and then unplug the unit after the PC tells me its safe to remove it. Here is my laptop and desktop specs
Laptop
Compaq
AMD Duron 1.1Ghz
256MB Ram
20Gig HD
Windows XP Home (No Updates)

Desktop
