Hi all,
I obtained a used Seagate Barracuda 3tb hard drive a while ago and have had many problems with it. To start, when I first obtained it, I could not access any of the old data on it. Whenever I plugged it in using a sata to usb adapter, it would disable my wifi adapter and make parts of my computer much slower. Eventually I was able to wipe it and format it several times. However it would still disable my wifi adapter. I tried hooking it in directly by sata, but it would freeze at the boot screen and I could not even access the bios. As of recently, the drive isn't even detected when plugged in, even though I can hear that it is running
Any ideas on how to fix this?

More than likely an issue with the hard drive board. Just because it spins up doesn't mean it works. it just means the drive motor is getting proper power.

To me it sounds like a dead drive. I would check the warranty. if it has none you can see if a local repair shop can tell you if it is dead or not for free/small charge.

The Barracuda drives were notorious for failing though.
