The statement that was made, was based on performance it wasn't overpriced. Nothing you listed is relevant to that statement.
Not really, your FPD metric is a linear value, and the actual value per advancement in performance is always non-linear, and even on frames per dollar, you can always find that with different graphics card, different visual candy setting the relative frames got can differ a lot, so it isn't a black and white linear relationship.

Also based on performance, it can likely not bottlenecking the next best GPU or even the next one coming, which means you can change one less platform and solely upgrading the GPU in future, that's another perspective to view the "not overpriced" statement.

You mean the little sliver they placed above and now below the processor, it is effectively free die space with regard to the footprint on the substrate. The cost is in the manufacture of the cache chip and the assembly of the package. Memory has been produced for as long as there have been silicon chips, the manufacturers will have the methods well optimised.
Im an idiot, I didn't know they were basically printing it in one piece. I thought the 3d cache - which is basically the size of a ccd - was printed separately. So yeah, if it's like that it's kinda "cheap".

No risk with the i5s. Just savings.
No risk with the i9s either.

Just FYI, what the technews ain't telling you - since I am waiting for the 9800x 3d - and since im completely clueless about how to tune it - I looked around on ocnet. You know what I found ?

A particular AMD agesa completely borked mobos - resulting in specific ddr5 chips being fed 1.8v and killing the ram. That's not a "it happened once" kind of situation, that happened to everyone that had a specific PMIC in their ddr5 kit. Basically, if you manually tried - or if the xmp of your kit goes past 1.435v, that particular AGESA fed 1.8v to your ram. So you choose 1.45v in the bios ---> mobo gives 1.8v, your ram is dead.

There was a fix at some point, and you know what the fix did? They just locked the voltages on those PMICs to 1.435, cause apparently they can't figure out how to stop it from feeding 1.8v. Lots of people complaining and still waiting for an agesa to unlock their ram voltages safely...

But whos gonna risk buying Intel, right?

Is that a joke? Why would buy AMD when you crap on them constantly?

But yes, the Advanced Marketing Devices will cover it up and the media will comply.

When you are too far gone on one side, you see people in the middle as far too gone to the other side. See the fact that I mentioned some actual - provable facts made you think im attacking them. For mentioning FACTS. How crazy is that?

My so called "attacks" on amd are always responses to people making crazy claims. Im just showing that the grass isn't particular greener on the other side either.

You are in no way "in the middle". Could you at least admit that?
Are you?

If the majority of people bashed AMD 24/7, I would be defending AMD and people would think im an amd fanboy. Since the opposite is true, people are 24/7 bashing Intel, people think im an intel fan. I don't really care though, attack the arguments, not the person.

No I am not but at least I will admit it. I prefer AMD but will not buy them if Intel offers a better product. I have done so for laptops and during the Bulldozer days.

I wasn't attacking you I was asking if you had a bias or not. Intel has its own 24/7 bashing like UB. If mass AMD fanboyism was a thing why is their GPU market share so terrible? People have largely rejected until lately for whatever reason.

I don't know if im biased, you tell me. I've got 4 amd laptops and 2 amd desktops, with just a single intel one.

First advice I gave to my girlfriend when she was looking for a laptop : Anything that has Intel in the name, skip it.

Again, don't care about biases, attack the argument. If im wrong - im wrong regardless of whether or not im biased.

That seems odd as some of the better laptops out there right now are Lunar Lake.

then how about, if both of you are so confident in intel, how about you use your own money to buy intels cpus and board to go with them for those that dont want to risk it ?? no ? yea, of course not, as i have asked both of you this before, and no reply... so.. while you say intel safe, you wont put your money were your mouth is...

too bad most, have lost trust in intel, and wont be buying them for a while.....

The guy has a 13900k bud.

But since you are taking bets, how about I enable XMP on my 9800x 3d tomorrow, and if it burns my kits you buy me new ones?

Well the 9800x 3d is far more easily attainable than the 4090. If you check mindfactory sales most people are buying 3d chips and then midrange (7800 xt) gpus. So we can talk crap about UB all day but he has a point.

What makes his take stupid is that he focuses on promoting intel specifically when he could make the same point about the 7600x (or even the 5700x 3d) not just the 13600k
It makes perfect sense to pair an x3d with a strong midrange GPU for 1080p gaming
