[citation][nom]HolyCrusader[/nom]My main computer was a little temperamental with SP1 on the first try, but I think that was more due to the fact I forgot to do a clean reboot of the system before running the install. The second time it worked just fine, as well as the three other computers I've installed it on so far (Windows 7 of various builds, no Win2008 builds). The activation limit is annoying, but I blame pirates more than I blame Microsoft for that problem. Still, with all of the computers I've worked on over the years, I've never dealt with a legal copy of Windows I couldn't legally activate. For those people that always are swapping motherboards out or simply like to reinstall Windows every month or so, there are legal ways to work around that, from telephone activation to cloning the drive after a clean (and activated) install. And for those that are really pressed for cash, there's always Ubuntu, Open Office, GIMP, and a slew of other free utilities for the necessities of modern computing. Gaming might be an issue, but gaming isn't a necessity, but a luxury.[/citation]
As always it's only the legal users that suffer from piracy. Pirates just use the loaders and oem keys. But then again, if the prices for windows were reasonable, more people would actually pay for it.
I don't know what's worse though - having issues with a windows or choosing an operating system fit for no particular purpose, and unfit for most purposes.
