[citation][nom]alidan[/nom]wow, they dont want a game, they just want you to talk to them... follow up on info... damn... most respectfull protest so far... and this comes on how douchey valve is treating its half life fans, teaseing things all the time... only to yell a big nope every time to every rumor and to every sign...i dont like fps games much, only a few ever dragged me into them for long, and halflife and half life 2 werent one of them... mainly due to game breaking bugs with half life 2serious samserious sam second encountertheir hd counter partsbattle field bad company 2 multiplayerblack light tango downblack light retribution (im in beta) painkillergolden eyeperfect darkthose are the only fps games that sucked me in, that i can remember... each of them i played for over 24 hours i tend to enjoy mindless killing to puzzle fps games i guess.[/citation]

I played both Half Life and HL2 at release and never encountered any game breaking bugs. I fell bad for you considering that it was Half Life that gave the FPS genre the giant boost it needed in order to be more than run and gun.

And no, we all want the game. But news would be enough to help tide us all over. I honestly think its better they take their time, but a hint or two wouldn't hurt at all.

[citation][nom]_Pez_[/nom]will be HFL3 with DX11.1 requirements 3way sli/crossfire to get 80FPS? or might be the same old engine DX9? or maybe they have just forgotten about the game?[/citation]

Probably wont be DX11. Will probably be Source. Even if VALVe did DX11, they would still make it work on a greater range of machines, unlike some other companies.

[citation][nom]JOSHSKORN[/nom]TF2 sucks. No wonder it's FtP. It's meant for teenagers.[/citation]

If TF2 sucked then why were there sooooo many players before FtP? And until you play it competitivley with a good team, you never get too play TF2. TF2 can be fun to pub stomp. But I like playing with a good team against another good team.

As for the secret project, I bet its Meet The Pyro.

meet the pyro was announced and dated shortly before this. the secret project is something else. Im guessing its the long promised female classes.

If only all the people that cared about the release of a new game cared equally as much about their lives and country, we could do great things.

yea, my game breaking bug was enemy ai was 0... some levels not a single one moved... you have no idea how boring halflife is if nothing is trying to kill you... if i have to say anything, portal is a better game than halflife.

than when we got halflife 2 again because my brother wont play anything not on a console at the time, i played half life 2 again... for some reason the game just cant suck me into it.

Why can't Valve just give a straight up response about the next Half Life installment, FFS?! Either you're gonna make a followup to the greatest FPS known to man, or you're not. I respect their decision either way, if they would just MAKE ONE. And to echo some of the previous comments, yeah I don't care for TF2, either. I tried to play it and I really tried to like it, but I just couldn't get into it at all. So each time there is a new hat or some other update for TF2, I can't help but roll my eyes in disgust, thinking how cool it would be to open Steam one day and see a release date for a new Half Life installment. I think I'll go ahead and start another HL2 game right now while I wait for Valve to give us what we want. Later.

Agreed. There was no need for that. You don't need to spread hateful opinions on this serious (but somewhat lighthearted topic). Don't hate. Just try to support this cause - if you're not a fanboy that is.

They're still working out kinks from their first engines. Which by the way, are still arguably superior to most engines out there. At least you can run their games (using the source engine) on modern day machines - unlike a certain unmentionable game from a few years ago (*cough, Crysis).

[citation][nom]srgess[/nom]Im the only one to thing that TF is for 5 year old ?[/citation]

Who cares if its fun? The problem is they made it free, and since we have encountered 5 year olds playing the game...its annoying. There are still things missing, for instance - muting an annoying child is not always easy to figure out, especially if you're new.

I don't really like this news. TF2 is a solid game, but it's long in the tooth now. I can barely sit down and play it anymore especially with this influx of extremely talkative annoying people that must be muted. It'd be nice if items were easier to get through gameplay. My friends seem to like playing Saxton Hale mode, which is ridiculously annoying I think.

I'd rather see Valve focus on Half Life again. They seem to be fascinated with ways to woo the emo child crowd with their focus on DOTA and free TF2. I'd really like to see them come up with something epic in scope again. CSGO looks like a great game, but we've all played it before. Give me something new. Give me something with depth. It's time for something with a lengthy campaign instead of yet another multiplayer party game.

I am disappointed in Valve.

I'm not buying another Valve product until they release Episode 3 or Half Life 3.

Whats the deal with HL3?!? Def something there as to why Valve has not gotten back to its once crown jewel. Perhaps simply building anticipation?!?

I agree, TF3 is a smart move on valves part. It will get much more sustained gameplay and popularity over HL. Plus it isn't a game designed for all out graphics, which means it'll play on older PC hardware and especially considering most people buy laptops nows instead of desktops, it will allow for a broader range of PC compatability which means many more players. Many more people able to buy and play the game. Which means, profit, profit, profit.

HL would be epic for the 4 days it takes me to beat it, the multiplayer probably woulndd't be that good. I would spend $60 on it, play it for a week, then put it down.

I could never get into TF2. I tried, but after a month of playing it just never was as fun to me as TFC was. I'm more of a L4D/L4D2 guy.
