Hello. I have a problem with my monitor. Few days ago I was going through display settings and I saw my refresh rate was set to 60Hz, even though it's always set to 75Hz, so I set it to 75Hz it and discovered some vertical lines, predominantly visible on grayish background (Discord). I reverted back to 60Hz and they are less visible and less strong (I haven't even noticed them till now).

My monitor is AOC Q3279VWF from 2017.
- Diagonal: 31.5"
- Resolution 2560x1440
- Refresh rate: 75Hz
- Panel type: MVA (LC320HU1A panel model)
- Panel bit depth: 10 bits (8 bits + FRC)
- Backlight: W-LED

I've connected my monitor to another output and its the same, so I guess its not the GPU. I have also tried DP and HDMI on GPU its the same. I have newest GPU drivers.

What is this issue and how its called? Is it fixable?
Why is it more stronger @75Hz?
Why is it mostly visible on gray background? (Can't see nothing on white, but darker colors like blue, purple, brown I can)
And lastly, my monitor was always set to 75Hz, this change happened without my notice.

Could be the fake 10bit color depth. Maybe try disabling HDR in windows.

It is, OPs monitor is 8bit+frc which means basically simulated/fake 10bit. If it's requesting a 10bit color signal it might be struggling. Banding is a trade characteristic of FRC though not typically limited to one color though.

There's a tool i think it was called Custom Resolution by Toasty. Otherwise only thing I can think of is to install all that AOC Menu bloat and see if there's a setting in there.
