I just upgraded my PC but now whenever I plug in my main monitor (a Samsung VGA monitor, roughly 9 years old) it works fine in normal windows but when I go into games or when editing videos in Premiere Pro, it goes black, makes the disconnect sound and the whole system glitches out til I exit the game/application. My second monitor (HDMI) works just fine by itself and I am able to play games perfectly when the other monitor is not connected.
I've been googling for ages and I found that the later NVIDIA cards have dropped support for VGA, and several people posted the solution to get an ACTIVE VGA-DVI adapter to solve this, which arrived in the post today, but the problem is the same! I have absolutely no idea what to do now, I have searched the internet, so any suggestions would be greatly welcomed. I probably do need a new monitor but having just spent £500 on upgrading my PC I would rather not do that right now.
Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Crucial 16GB DDR4 RAM
MSI A320M-Pro
ZOTAC GTX 1650 Super 4GB
Hitatchi 1TB HDD
240GB SanDisk SSD
EVGA 500W PSU
ANYTHING would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
