VGA to DVI 3D

What will happen if I use a VGA cable on my GTX570 and have it go to a 120hz monitor, but I attach it with a dual-link DVI adapter? Will the 3d picture be fine because it technically is being hooked up via dual-link?

I think it should work but the chart on the nvidia site looks like it says DVI displays only. Take a look a this chart.
