First, I know this exact question has been asked 1,000 times. The reason I make another thread is that a lot of the links in the other posts are broken, or Newegg has deactivated the product.

I'm looking for the best video card on the market today for ~$100.

Power is not an issue. Heat *is* an issue. It is imperative my PC never shuts down.

I'm currently leaning towards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261062

Questions: Does the "256-bit" vs "128-bit" matter as much as I think it does? I know the RAM is fairly irrelevant.

Also, why do the nVidia cards (or a lot of cards, for that matter) not list how many "bits" they have? They list amount of "processing units/cores," which Radeon cards never list. What's up with that?

System specs:

i7-960
Sabertooth x58
24 gb tri-channel 1600 RAM
Corsair TX650 V2 650W

So what's the difference in those cards you mentioned? (5670, 6670, 5770, 6770)

I can't tell 😱

I agree with what you're saying. 340W is closer to what this specific card uses, though I always blast way over that with my PSU anyways. On average it rises to between 65 and 80 degrees, though that's still healthy for the card. And it is the older generation, but it plays games quite well, especially for the price. I leave that to personal opinion. The card isn't going to break your system, but there are probably better options out there if you can find gtx 460s for that good of a price. Happy hunting.

The difference is they don't use 300w. They also have been replaced with newer models hat use even less (6670/6770). That's how they were listed on the article from THG "best video cards for the money" that I linked because they perform similiarly and are the same price. (5670/6670, 5770/6770) But the newer models are more efficient.

Anything else you can't figure out that I can help you with?

Yes. I'm trying to distinguish between the 4. You said the difference is that they don't use 300w? Which of them use 300w then? I'll avoid that one.
