Video Corruptio in P4PE with ATI 9600XT graphics card

I have a P4PE with 1.8Ghz P4, 512K ram, and recently purchased an HIS
Excalibur 9600XT Classic video card.

The computer boots to bios screen normally, but once it gets into WinXP
SP2 or Linux FC2, it corrupts the display with a blocky pixelated mask
over the display..............this is happening everytime I boot the
computer

Any suggestions?

I have tried contacting HIS digital on their website without any
response for more than a week.....................

I have the same problem but with a MSI 875P NEO mobo and an ATI All In
Wonder 9700 video card. The corruption shows in the bios screen too.

May be an ATI problem?

I have the HIS Exc. 9600XT Platinum with P4C800-E Dlx.
Is the problem only with DVI?
If so, I had the problem of every 2 or 3 reboots the bottom of the screen
slightly being cutoff and appearing at the top of the screen. I couldn't
solve it, and ended up using VGA. But now looking in the Catalyst Control
Center, in 'Options', I now see two DVI options that can be toggled on or
off; one is off by default, the other is on; that leaves three more on/off
combinations between the two. Eventually, I am going to power down and try
the DVI connection again. If you have DVI connected now, try those settings,
and see if the problem is corrected.

I tried different combinations of the the two DVI settings and none of them
worked; but maybe it will work for you.

I am not using the DVI output....analog....now the problem is showing up
in my old 7500 Radeon card as well...........

I am not using the DVI output....analog....now the problem is showing up

I had much the same problem, went into ATI settings and under
troubleshooting lowered the setting for hardware acceleration a bit and the
screen started to clean up right away.
