Is it possible to see a preview of a movie from my computer?

I mean if I have an .avi or mp3 file for example and I click on it once, can
I see a preview of it on my computer on thr left panel? Or at least listen to
songs without opening media player?

The WM9CAP utility does that, however you'll need to download WM9 series
encoder first.

So Windows Media Player 10 codecs should have this capability? I have WMP10
and cannot play or view audio or video files in XP windows explorer as I was
able to do in Windows 2000.

I have found a work-around for this. See the following.
