Hello,

1. Assuming if I am using a laptop that support maximum resolution 1920x1200 and I set it to maximum resolution 1920x1200 with 100% scaling and I can see 20 excel rows without scrolling in my laptop, if I use an HDMI cable to connect my monitor (32 inch monitor that supports 2560x1440) to the laptop, will I see more, or less, or the same rows than 20 excel rows on the monitor?

2. Is the HDMI cable just mirroring whatever I see on the laptop so I will see same rows in the monitor screen and the laptop screen without scrolling?

3. Is it possible to see more than 20 excel rows on the monitor (32 inch monitor that supports 2560x1440)?

Thanks

Apart from the resolution, what is the size of the laptop's screen? The logical answer is actually yes you get see more without scrolling. It's why I have a secondary monitor in portrait mode, so I get to see more without scrolling down.

Instead of being vague, ight as well mention the make and models of both the laptop and the monitor. We can give you a tailored answer.

Laptop model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1

Screen size is 14 inch - - - maximum resolution 1920 x 1200

External Monitor: Acer EB321HQU 32-inch -- 2560 x 1440

If in the Lenovo X1 14 inch laptop (without connecting to any monitor yet) [windows>settings>display resolution] only has 1920x1200 resolution as the maximum selection, does it mean after you connect a hdmi cable to Acer eb321hqu 32 inch monitor 2560x1440 there will be a new 2560x1440 resolution option appearing for you to select?

You will have 2 displays, one of them will be able to select up to 1920×1200 and the other will be able to select 2560×1440.
