VirtualDub freezes when stopping capture

Hi all,
I have a P4 3.4Ghz 2Gb RAM with ATI RADEON X700.
I used VirtualDub 1.52 to digitize 4-5 movies. Then it suddenly had
problems in capturing video.
I go into capture mode, then I start capture and it begins to record
video. When I click or I press ESC to stop capture, it keeps displaying
"Capture in progress" and freezes. It refuses to terminate, and
partially blocks my windows XP (I need to hard-reset).
I reinstalled video drivers (witn wdm drivers), I tried deleting and
reinstalling VirtualDUB 1.48, 1.50, 1.52, 1.64 etc...

Using MSAmCap I succeed in capturing video, so I think it's serious
VirtualDub problem. It remains "hanged" to the capturing device.

What can I try???

Also try out version 1.64 and see what that does

i worked out that i had to disable the "VCR Input" option in the Capture Filter Option box to stop this happening, though i never had to hard reset, just kill the process
