Vist starts on it own? How do I stop it?

Hello buys I need some help. I installed Vista Ultimate on my computer and the problem is when ever I turn off my PC and come back and bump the mouse or accidentally hit a key on the keyboard my computer starts up. This would not be a big problem but people in another room exercise and when they do my computer starts up when I could be gone for days on end. Also when the computer starts up it only get power to the tower it does not go to the windows startup but and I just get a black screen with the monitor saying no signal. HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM?

Two things:
1) Make sure you actually hitting shut down and not sleep
2) Go into your BIOS and disable Wake up on Mouse/Keyboard.

That should help... hopefully.

As above, or place the PC on an outlet power strip and power off the strip when you're done for the day.

LOL!!!

My friend use to do that, but not for that reason. His purpose was in case of lightning storms or something.

I'm thinking... Sunny day... no storms... your computer is plugged into a surge protector in case of storms... your computer shuts down fine...

Why are you unplugging the surge protector again? :tongue:
