Vista Pricing too high.

Microsoft releases this product I guess after 5 or 4 years, but think how many graphic card chips did ATI & NVIDIA released during this period, and check out their prices in the beginning. They cost us more than vista though how many of us did buy those cards.
I am not complaining to ATI or NVIDIA 4 that but I have never seen any1 here complaining about their prices more often.

It's easy to pass on new grasphic cards or wait till the price drops. The vast majority of people don't have to have high end or newest graphic cards. On the other hand, for the vast majority of users, Windows is the only viable OS. Microsoft invests an enoumous amount of money in the development and upgrades for Windows, although the latter could no doubt be reduced if they got it right the first time. On the other hand, with a 90% market share and all major computer mfg installing Windows, how long does it take to recoup this investment? I have no idea what mfg like Dell and HP pay for Windows but if you find a company that lets you buy a machine without Windows, the savings is about $90. The mfg no doubt have thier mark up on Windows but still a $90 savings means Microsoft is getting a big chunk of $. Again, the origianl questions was about a Fair price and some of us think that there must be real, viable competition for the price to be Fair, which right now is not the case with in the OS market.
