I have setup an Internet router which has built in VPN
capabilities. I run a small peer to peer windows network at
my office with all the pc's connected to the router. All of
the computers are running Win XP & Home. I can connect to
my office computer using a tunnel running the PPTP
protocol. I have a friend who also needs to be able to
connect to the office network from home but I want to allow
him read only access to the files on my work computer. Is
this possible and if so how is this achieved ?

Use Built-In Windows permissions on Shares.. Setup a User name and
password for him, change the Share permissions to the folders allowing
that User Read access only...
