[SOLVED] Want to upgrade my PC to get 240 FPS, I'm thinking I need a better GPU.

I have an i7-8700K, 16 GB DDR4 2400MHz, GTX 1060 6GB EVGA. I want to be able to achieve maximum frame rate on FPS games on competitive low settings. I've had several people say that all I need was a RTX 2070 Super because that type of framerate is CPU bound. I was wanting a second opinion on what I needed to upgrade in my build to achieve my goal. Some games I play are: CSGO, Siege, Apex, Overwatch... etc

240fps on 1080p ? Well not even a 2080Ti can give you consistent 240 in games like Apex. But 2070s is quite adequate to give you frames between 190-240 depending on the area and clutter in competitive settings.

240hz is hard to push. A 2070 super would be a good choice for the performance per dollar.

Your i7 8700k is good enough for high refresh in many titles, especially with overclock.
