Hey to you all, my hard drive recently malfunctioned and now I need to replace it, the thing is, my system is three years old, I have an old MSI motherboard (which I can not remember the model) and I even have an 8800 GTS on it... So it is an old PC but it was doing ok by me since I dont play many of the new games (I find most of them boring, but that is another case).
1. I did a little digging and found Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB 64MB 3,5" WD20EARS, but in Tom's Hardware it says the disk is 5400 RPM, the retailer says it is 7200 RPM. Which one is true?
2. Since I am trying to buy a disk that has good performance, what do you guys suggest? I am pretty sure my motherboard doesn't support SATA III so I don't prefer buying a SATA III disk, I may consider it if it is affordable.
3. Do you think WD 20 EARS is enough for a gaming machine? Keep in mind that I will buy this HDD around 120$ so do you think it is a good bargain or should I look for alternatives?
Thank you all...
