[SOLVED] Webcam isn't being detected

I just got this plug and play camera (driverless), but when I'm connecting it to my pc it isn't being detected.
In device manager, there are 2 (for some reason) devices called WEBCAM and I can't seem to find fitting drivers, anything in the camera's box that will help me.
When I tried connecting it to a laptop it worked and I don't know why...

Probably to do with the different Windows versions on your PC & laptop.
One version of Windows supports it (your laptop), the other one doesn't (your PC).

Difficult to check if my hunch is right since it's a no-name device, but seems the most likely explanation.

You may be able to learn more about the webcam. USB - Correct?

Open Powershell and run the following cmdlet:

Get-PnpDevice -Class 'USB' | ft

(You should be able to cut and paste the above line into Powershell at the PS> prompt.

Look in the "Friendly Name" column.

The webcam(s) may be listed in some identifiable/traceable manner. For example, my Logitech Pro 9000 at the second line.

However, as can be seen above, the results can be Unknown/generic. AKA: "no name".

I can't seem to find there something related to it... pretty sure its one of the "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"

Does the camera have any sort of LED that turns on when webcam is plugged in? Do you hear a "USB connected" beep when the webcam is plugged in?

Another thing you can do is go online and search for webcams but use images.

Try to find any webcam pictures that show a a webcam that appears to be physically the same webcam - hopefully an obviously branded product. Or at least some manufacturing name.

Your "no name" webcam might be clone or generic version that was just packed as part of some promotional package deal.

If you find any matching camera(s) then go to the respective manufacturer's website and download the applicable drivers.
