Hey everyone, thanks ahead of time if anyone can provide any advice on what to do, since this is driving me nuts. I recently upgraded to an RTX 4080 from a 2080ti, and immediately noticed this weird issue where any time dark/grey colors are displayed on my monitor, this weird pixelated effect happens where there appear to be lines, almost like a grid across my display in 1440p. This issue seems to have been experienced by a Linux user in this thread https://forums.developer.nvidia.com...resolution-over-displayport-connection/109965 and I've seen it pop up in a few other threads but it's tough to describe. I've taken a few photographs of my monitor try to show off the issue. I'm not sure if these are scan lines or what, but the people in that other thread seem to have solved the issue by changing their dithering settings, which appears to only be possible in their Linux graphics driver config files. I have no idea if there is any way to accomplish the same thing in Windows. I'm on the verge of returning my RTX 4080 since I can't stand the way my screen looks now, it's absolutely horrible sometimes.

I'm using Display Port atm, but checked with an HDMI cable and the issue still seems to be happening. I also have a 4K tv plugged in via HDMI and there's no issue with that display at all, it seems to only affect my 1440p monitor.

Here are some links to images that show off the issue, but it's much more obvious on my end:

If you zoom in you can see that like basically every second pixel is part of a dark line, it can especially be seen if you zoom in on the letters in the SEGA logo.

If anyone can help or you need more information from my end please let me know.

Thanks again!

Did you DDU the old drivers?

BTW: I'm not seeing the issue you're talking about.
No, I didn't actually. Figured it was fine since I already had geforce gameready drivers installed with the RTX 2080ti, didn't realize it would make a difference. Maybe I'll give that a try. Also, here's a different picture, maybe you can see what I mean. See the vertical lines on both sides of the Dreamcast logo here? And underneath it, see how it alternates between horizontal black and grey bars? If you zoom in you should see it.

All I see is a LCD display. 🤷‍♂️

Go ahead and use DDU and then install the latest Nvidia driver.
