Question Weird clicking noise coming from what sounds like the hard drive.

I have an alienware pc, so I don’t know what brand of hard drive it is, but is has been making a strange clicking sound lately. Just wanted to know if this was normal.

Now that i’ve opened the pc up, it sounds like it’s coming from the gpu. I have an nvidia gtx 1070.

Did you check if something is in the fan blades? Try a fan controlling program and reduce the speed of your GPU fan and see if the noise slows down. SpeedFan is what I use http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php.

yes I have checked for things in the fans. I didn’t find anything. I am pretty sure it only happens on idle now after ignoring it for a bit. I will try the gpu software.

I cant use that software to stop my gpu fan.

I was sure that this program could control the gpu fans. If ever you want to control the fans there is always this program but be careful not to play with the overclocking settings!
MSI Afterburner

It could also be coil whine from your gpu or psu... search it up on Google to see if it sounds the same.
