Hi everyone,

I posted here a few weeks ago about a weird issue I was having with my system. When I reinstalled XP (like I had routinely done before) my FPS in Flight Simulator 2004 were halved. I downloaded the right drivers and installed them properly. I even reinstalled multiple times to make sure I wasn't doing anything dumb. Because of this I am sure that I have a hardware issue, and my hunch leads me to my graphics card. My FPS are really slammed when I pan around to heavy scenery. FS 2004 is the only test of heavy graphics I have so that is the only question mark I have. Am I missing some easy setting or do I have a problem with my 3 year old X800XL? If it makes a difference, a node fell off of it last year but I noticed no consequences in performance. Please help! I just replaced my PSU because I thought that a lack of power might have been the issue.

No messing with BIOS, just an XP re-install. I'm usually able to pinpoint issues within the game, but this one is totally atypical. It's been going on for a month and before I spend more I would like to know what is happening. Any suggestions or ideas?

I tried OMEGA ones that were from a few months earlier. Is it possible that a lack of power would slowly kill a graphics card? My old PSU was weak on the +12V rails- I believe the card was only running on 14 amps.

same graphics settings inside the game? make sure you aren't trying to go from medium settings to high settings. make sure its the same resolution. make sure the game is patched to the most current
