I guess I will try it here... Just getting my feet wet with this FORUM concept.

My name is Tom and took my own SABBATICAL / EARLY RETIREMENT after 10+
years as a Electro-Mechanical Engineer developing cutting edge semiconductor Inspection machines.
The last system was NANO-TOPOLOGY 300 mm bare wafer inspection, "GOLDEN WAFER" validtaion... Sold
for $1.5 Mil each.

I refurbish & tune-up old systems and resale at reasonable cost for a second HOME OFFICE or a compact media machine.

I am always repairing something in the electronics field: Cel;l phones, tablets, laptops, etc...

Thanks for your time & I am out...

Hi I'm Ken, just listening until I can until I figure out how to tell you what the problem is! :)

Howdy!

Former Tier 2-3 tech and Ops Analyst who's finally gone beyond having to search Tom's for answers, and have come into the community to start asking my own questions, as I break out on my own.

I've got lots of practical knowledge from 6 years in a small business setting (local financial institutions) as an "all hats but the Cicsco server, because that's our CIO's specialty," and a couple years working for some big name multinationals in break-fix. No certs to back it up, because the paychecks were never big enough to pay for rent and exams. (Boo!)

Thanks for having me.

Hello Everyone !
I am 28 yrs. old and name is Er. Sandeep Kumar (Civil) from India.
I am simple in nature and my hobby is to do stuffs like any electrical for a small project, and kind of designing stuffs, making house designs etc. I am following and read stuffs in Tom's hardware since many years. And it's my pleasure to connect to this community. So thanks to all.

ever wonder if ur in the right place..? Hi jpishgar, I'm Dwayne, 57 from Canada, married for 35 yrs. with 3 beautiful girls and 7 grandchildren. Been using computers since the 80's (Tandy Co Co III). I've come to Tom's for information for many years now and pretty much always got what I was looking for.
All my computer life I've bought systems from swap meets to retailers and now I finally want to take the plunge and build my own. I have a "Wish List" on Newegg.ca comprised of what I hope will be a semi fast computer for today's standards (and Budget, emphasis on Budget). I finally joined Toms in hopes that I could be reassured that my choices are compatible and not wasteful.
Could someone please point me in the right direction to post my "Wish List" and wait with bated breath for any improvements or even changing for more budget friendly options while not sacrificing performance.
Little known fact: I play a four string banjo like a rhythm guitar, and play a guitar like a beginner and like to sing Contemporary Christian Music at our Church

Hi everyone. I'm 29, from London, and what I spend my days doing depends on who shouts the loudest! Server/Windows admin to networking, to SQL, to broadcast specific.

Hi All!
I am an electrical Engineer and Technology nerd. Hope that we will learn from each other, and that my contribute would be more than welcomed :)

Hi ilirvranica pleased to meet you...I'm sure you'll be an asset to the forum

Hello, I'm Diego.
I knew the site in the forums of the internet and I could contemplate the content that is of great value.

I'm an eternal apprentice ...

Hi, I'm Jason, and I have been building PC's since the time of the 486. I remember DOS and Windows 3.11 for Workgroups quite well. Those who worked with computers back then will understand the many hours of editing autoexec.bat and config.sys files to get more drivers to load into upper memory just to free up more conventional memory. Thankfully we don't have to do that anymore. I don't build PCs as often anymore, but I have worked with a few AMD processor and motherboard combos in recent years. Most of my experience is with non-gaming setups.

Hi, everyone good to be here, I've always find my way to the forum straight from my Google searches, so it was inevitable to sign in, and seek advise to my IT troubles, hope to find new friend and to keep learning.

Mason here, partial prowler for the forum. I've been away for a couple months, but I'm back and ready to assist and learn. Plenty of better people here than I, but I feel like I've got a good foot in the door. Have a good day! :)

Hi Ben and the rest of the newcomers. You can always rest assured that with every "google"(computer related) search you get a hit back from Tom's !
