Hi! I've been reading Tom's for a long time and it's always my go to source. Not sure why I haven't joined before now. I love computers and tech, sometimes I feel like I started too late though, it seems like everybody has been into this stuff since they were in diapers... Besides computers/coding I'm also a big comic book geek. I joined to hopefully learn a lot more, starting with something I've been trying to figure out but just can't seem to get so I posted it here.

Hope to participate and learn a lot

Hey, I'm 24 years old, I live in italy and I just finished my first 3 years in computer science. I've been using tom's hardware for a long time now and I finally decided to make an account :)

I'm 71 this month!!!!! Aging sneaks up on us as fast as an hour hand on a clock. I use this term; "I used to ...." FARRRRR tooo much.
I used to be .... pretty smart!!! Unlike Rush Limbaugh, half my brain is gone!!!!!, not even tied behind my back!!!! And I don't like it.
I remember Tom's Hardware from WAYYYY back, it has always been one of the very best sites to to to for anything --- about computers.
I got into computers about 1992, even before Widows for Workgroups!!!!! HAAAAAAA, so there, I know something you "Kids" don't!!!!
I configured Compaq PDA's to synch with PC's when they first came out!!!!
I was the first in my area to use a cell phone to connect my laptop to the internet to give tech support on weekends so I didn't have to stay home by the land line for nothing!!!!
Now I'm as dumb as a box of rocks compared to you "kids". The things you guys know, literally boggles my mind.
Have a charitable heart toward those you give support to. Have patience and don't speak over their heads or you will be good for nothing. Except maybe programming!!! Some people don't play well with others. (President Trump comes to mind - maybe he still thinks he is on that TV show???)
One of my employers said, I don't care if you don't know something, we can teach you that, What I DO care about is that you enjoy the people you work with - attitude. (sometimes a soft toy would come over the top of the cubicle... etc. )

Hello! I'm Miguel. Pleasure to meet all of you and Join the forums.
I love gaming, especially on pc. I love to collect sneakers (once had over 85 pairs!) sold most of them for profit to help my computer addiction.
I keep aquatic pets such as fish and inverts, I love freshwater shrimp they're such an easy to take care of pet.

I'm currently accepted to a 5 year scholarship to pursue my dreams of a STEM major, more specifically Computer Science.

I also like to collect clothing, run a small resell business for shoes and clothes, record and edit unboxings/review videos and produce/compose/mix music:)

A great big Irish Hi
Dia dhuit
, I'm in my late 60s, retired civil servant, to my great sadness and disappointment I've never married and have no children

Anyway, I do keep busy: gardening, some child minding for my nephews three adorable children. They are all at primary school and I live no more than 70 yards from the school's front gate. I'm also a voluntary worker in the school. I'm also involved in my local creative writers group. I carried out an initial edit on my friend John McAllister's Barlow books, basically stories of a local policeman in 1950's Ireland

Why am I here? Well on and off I've been lurking at the sight for a number of years and I've found his information pretty reliable, well written and researched with little obvious bias. So here I am!

And once again Dia dhuit from a not to sunny ireland

Hi, I am Terry (a SHE, not a HE). I am glad that I found this site, because I am a real computer moron. I came to computers late in life (I am 69) and mainly use mine for my craft designing business and personal emails. I only learn new computer stuff as I run into problems.

Little Known Fact About Me: Many years ago, a friend took me to the local train yard and convinced his friend to let me drive a locomotive

Little Known Fact About Me: I earned the down payment to buy my first house by mud wrestling.

First learned about Tom's on a BBS, and if you have no idea what that was, lucky you. I've been around since Windows 95 first came out, although not with this account. My first pc was a Commodore Vic-20, with tape cassette drive and ram addition, one of the first in the country, Saudi Arabia, where my dad was stationed. Been hooked ever since. Hobbies include case modding, hanging out in here and older games as those run best on my older, budget pc's.

Howdy thanks for making this very informative place. I will be on here a lot seeing how i have a lot of questions and nobody can answer them a little known fact about me I'm smarter than I look

Hello my name is Ra. Yes, you read correctly.

I am here because I have a problem with my Nikon D3100. It is vital that I find out how to deal with it for I love my camera.

Two years ago I discovered the power and pure magic of photography and even since I am practising this beautiful art. I hope to carry on as long as possible...

Hey everyone. I'm FlamingChipmunk. Chip to my friends.

I have been lurking here for a while and finally signed up today. I'm trying to learn how to fix and replace parts on my computer. I recently replaced my video card...by myself! And while that may seem like small potatoes...it was a milestone for me. The rig I currently have was a present three years ago and I just started to upgrade things.
I am a gamer by passion. (I'm a girl that games....not a gamergurl) I speak some Portuguese. Most of it learned through gaming with the picante brasileiros. I used to play nothing but console...then I got my computer and that all changed. I'm not into over clocking or any thing like that. I just like my simple rig. And, I like my simple grinding MMO's (no Lol or Wow)..

Hi everyone,

I am 63, l have footered about with computers for many years, never becoming an expert, just determined and stubborn. But it gets harder to fix things by yourself. So it's great to have this kind of a forum.

My present frustration is with my elderly HP w2408h monitor which constantly attempts "auto adjustment" and prevents me getting anything done.

I have tried resting it for 24 hours and starting in safe mode, but nothing works.

The monitor has its own controls, but touching any of them triggers the "auto adjustment" to appear.

Any ideas anyone?
