Hello I own a L2210Nw Westinghouse 22" monitor and have been having a brightness problem with it. One day i bumped into it and the screen got very very bright and now there are horizontal lines flickering occasionally - sometimes these go away if i turn the monitor on and off but the brightness stays.

I've tried plugging my computer into another monitor(hannspree LCD tv) and the picture is absolutely perfect, so I think I ruled out issues on my computers end. I've turned the brightness all the way down and its still waay too bright! The only way i can get it down to a tolerable level is with a gamma panel program which lets me tune down the gamma to .5 - unfortunately this makes the darker areas on the monitor tend to flicker also.

I ended up taking it apart(my warranty was up) and while looking at the power board it had a darker spot on the board near the chips(none of the capacitors looked blown.)

If i replace this board with a new one; do you think it will fix my brightness issue? I'd appreciate any help you can give me, thanks for reading!

Edit: added a few details :)

Ah yeah that would suck. I haven't been able to find any other incidences online of problems like mine - main reason I'm asking here. I appreciate the response, anyone else have some helpful input? =]
