Minesweeper can beat the crap out of Freecell though. Nothing is more fun during a stupid/easy computer class than checking your email, checking a forum or two, and playing some hardcore minesweeper!

It's all good ^_^

Scorched earth, tetris, doom (dos GAMES rocked!!!). All classic favorites. But the game that got me truly into the FPS, Shogo : M.A.D. I found it at compUSA one day after school, thought "hmmm.. anime based shooter game. might be interesting." First time I lost sleep over a computer game..

Lol! I was SOOOO addicted to LORD and also Overkill! Trade Wars and Global Wars! Food Fight! Hehehe. Forgot all about those, those were awesome!

I want to move to space, so I can overclock processors cooled to absolute zero.

Oh man... DOS game swere awesome. I have one system dedicated to DOS games. I wish I still had all the ones I used to have.

Dragon Slayer (What a pain to learn how to beat it but the graphics were amazing for it's time)

Scorched Earth... Classic

King of Chicago (4 colors)

SpaceWar

Bards Tale

I remember really old games on my first IBM PC... The IBM PC. The games on that were stick figures and on a green screen. I remeber having to get slow down programs just so I could play older games on the faster 286s. hehehe.

Gotta agree with you on this one...Scorched earth with five buddies and Bard's tale were some of my best gaming experiences. Scorched earth was LAN before LAN was cool.

1.UFO Enemy Unknown (1st XCom game)
2.Syndicate (no description required)
3.Assassin (parallax side-scrolling shooter)
4.Alien Breed (top-down Aliens hunting game)
5.Pinball Dreams (pinball obviously)

And I am rebuilding an old PC to play this again,
bit i have so far P100 W95c 64mb Ram 2GB HDD SB16

Hmmm, wonder if I can get a valid page fault ???
these invalid ones are far too commonplace...

I had very fond memories playing Hero Quest On my Dell 486sx25 and Taipan on an Apple IIc. I also had a good time playing Leisure Suit Larry on my XT turbo system 😛

Call me Caine.

Ohh gorillas, I remember that... the first game I played where U could literally shoot for the sun... & hit it... those were the days

I used to play Wings of Fury on an old Apple IIe.

Dudes, Frontier was one of the best DOS games. It was the most massive game ever. I loved it!

Then there were:
- CnC: RA (would play for days straight)
- Star Wars: Tie Fighter
- Star Wars: Dark Forces (would also play for hours on end)
- Duke Nukem 3D (still a great game)
- Deadlock (corny, but kind of amusing)
- Contra
- Faxanadu (amazing game, really!)
- NFS: SE and NFS2: SE
- Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (it was just plain fun.)

There are others, of course, but they have grown old for me, and I wither with age.....

XP 2500+ Barton
A7N8X Dlx
2x512MB Corsair PC3200
MSI GF3 Ti500 w/64MB DDR
16x DVD-ROM
2x80GB 7200RPM Maxtor
Onboard audio

My computer is bigger than your computer....

Totally forgot about Scorched Earth. I loved using the Death's Head on someone

Damn that game was a classic

It's all good ^_^

Warning! It's gonna be REALLY old stuff...Am I the only one here that had a C64 as his first personal computer?!

On C64:
River Raid (believe me or not if anyone makes a new version I'll buy it)
Raid over Moscow
The Last Ninja series (especially 3)
Test Drive II

On Amiga (I didn't own one):
Prince of Persia
Flashback
North and South (? or some such game about the American civil war)
Larry 1 and 3

on PC:
Prince of Persia 2
Duke Nukem 3D

OMG, I'm nostalgic already: /me recalls his C64 and the damn tape player. /me also remembers all the hours he played Prince of Persia on a friend's Amiga 500. Even with the 8-bit sound of Amiga it was MUCH MUCH better sounding and better looking than the PC version although when SB16 came for the PC, things improved immensely.
Edited by r2k on 03/08/03 09:16 AM.

Prince of Persia is the sweetest game I ever played. I swear it never gets old. The second one is the best out of all three by far. Have you ever played the prince of persia 3.0 or something. Its like 1 but has all new levels and you have to complete it within 1 hour, there are no saves. Its IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Red Storm Rising is still the BEST sub game ever made...I'm sick of the newer sub games that would stick in some 3D outside view of the sub...Inside a sub you don't see jack except what your instruments tell you...good fun.

Here's my list

C64 - EA and Microprose were gods then.

Wasteland - Best RPG ever
Bards Tale series
Ultima series
Mail Order Monsters
Legacy of the Ancients
Roadwar 2000
Mars Saga
Gunship

Older PC

Xcom
Master of Orion I & II
Tetris 😀
Jagged Alliance
Total Anihillation (sp)
Fallout

Your using WHAT??? (quote from friend when I told him my PC specs)

Ultima and Kings Quest have been mentioned but Quest for Glory was a real good game too... Sierra and Origin was god then...

For the love of God, and all thats holy...

Have any of you played Sierra's Gold Rush??
Its the type of game where you have to type to tell your character what to do?? I thought that was cool game to play on my 10mhz, 640kb ram, 40mb hard drive pc...hehe

"Hey!! Who's that hiding behind the bush??!...Well Wingding of course!"

Oh yeah...C64 rocked for its time...
My favorite C64 titles:
Raid over Moscow
Mail order Monsters
Ace of Aces
Seven cities of Gold (played for hours!!!)
Bard's Tale (never could finish it)
Karateka
Kung Fu Master

Don't forget the ultimate oldie...Karate Champ...FULL POINT!

The only way France is going in is if we tell them we've discovered truffles in Iraq. -Dennis Miller

-Unkulian Adventures 1&2 (text based) and another text based called Thief or something.
-Ultima's, of course
-Phantasie
-Starflight 1&2 (and later Star Control 1-3 which were kinda similar)

Nintendo:
-Dragon Warrior
-Zelda
-Final Fantasy's

Man I wasted a lot of hours in front of the TV.
