I recently purchased a no name (cheap) case in which to place my MSI 848P Neo motherboard, etc. There was, of course, no documentation with the case. There is a cable coming from the inside of the front panel that appears to be coming from the front USB outlet. It has a pig tail ending with 8 individual connectors. They read as follows: Power, GND, D2-, D2+, Power , GND, D3-, D3+. Where on the mother board do these connect? Thanks for any insight that you can contribute. (Other than ...."don't buy cheap computer equipment"....lol!)
You have to check your mainboard manual for USB header. Usually there's 8 or 9 pins on your board (most common is 9 pins). Check for the assignments of those pins. If it's marked in the board by number (if 8pins), number 1 and 5 is the power, number 2 and 6 is D2- and D3-, 3 and 7 is D2+ and the rest is ground.
You'll need to look through your manual to find the pin out for those wires and hook them up accordingly. I had to do that with my old Asus P4PE MB with my old trusty Antec case that looked like:
