- What components do you already have?
- What software will you be using?

At least get a Core 2 Duo.

not that p4's are bad (i still using one), it just that there better cpus out there for your MB. I would go and get a Pentium d if you wanting a cheap Duo core cpu. Although core 2 duos/quads are better.
