I currently own Astro A40 TR's for the PC but have recently got an xbox one.

I can get sound fine but cant use the microphone so right now I'm using earphones with the built in mic from my phone for voice chat but that gets very uncomfortable pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure I need the other mixamp for it but I'm not sure if I should get the mixamp pro or the mixamp M80. I currently have the PC/PS4 version of the Astros with the black mixamp pro as I didnt like the white ones and had no plans to switch from PC at the time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Do you have the Xbox One Chat adapter for your A40?

Here ya go if not. :) Here's the manual. Scroll down to see how it connects to your A40. No audio as the Xbox employs a tri-ring 3.5/2.5mm whereas regular headphones & ear buds have 2 ring. 1 ring = mono, 2 ring = stereo...

If you don't want to drop $80 on the M80, maybe give the following a try and hope for the best. Do your A40's have attached audio cable or do you plug it directly into the headset? If attached, single or dual plug? I ask because you may not need the male to male extension below if it's attached to your headset.

Plug this, this or this into your controller.
Plug this & this (or similar) into the above and into your A40's.
