I have a computer that I built myself a year ago but it doesn't run some games like I want it to. DayZ standalone runs at about 19-27 frames (I know it's not optimized well but still) a somewhat heavily modded skyrim runs at 20-30 fps. Assassins Creed Black Flag runs at 30-40 on max settings. My specs are as shown from System Requirements Lab:
Processor AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor
Manufacturer AMD
Speed 3.5 GHz
Number of Cores 8
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Manufacturer NVIDIA
Chipset GeForce GTX 760
Dedicated Memory 2.0 GB
Total Memory 3.9 GB
Memory 8.1 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
Service Pack 1
Size 64 Bit
Edition Home Premium
Display Maximum Resolution 1920 x 1080
DVD ASUS DRW-24B1ST i ATA Device
CD ASUS DRW-24B1ST i ATA Device
Drive 1
Size 2.0 TB
Free 1.9 TB
Drive 2
Size 111.7 GB
Free 67.8 GB
I really would like to play the next gen games like GTA V on max setting like I had hoped but I doubt that with whatever is holding me back I will be able to accomplish it.
I Would Like To Know What Needs To Be Upgraded, GPU, CPU, etc.

Solution
Nothing really. The performance would be the same. Honestly any 970 you but will basically perform the same as any other one. Within the margin of error. Because you don;t plan to overclock it, there is not reason to get an expensive one.

I am aware, especially DayZ as it is optimized poorly. Will CPUs be as easy to upgrade as a GPU?

Damn, well that is gonna take a whole nother forum thread to solve but for now I'm good with this 😛
