I am looking for a GPU to partner my Ryzen 7 5700x
For a cost around 750usd. I was planning on buying the RTX 4070 for my r7 5700x. i did some research on it and it says that it will bottleneck it. Any other suggestions for a gpu that cost around 750usd and with minimal bottleneck. For 1440p gaming.

This is my pc specs im planning to build

Are you willing to buy used? What PSU do you have or are you planning to get? Exact model, not just wattage.

Where are you located/planning to buy from?

7900XT would be the most obvious suggestion, but if you can stretch a little you may be able to get a 7900XTX for around $800 after rebates with Black Friday coming up.

(I got the Sapphire Pulse 7900XTX for like $820, but that was after getting $90 back because Amazon never sent me the Starfield Premium code - far from guaranteed)

Forget you heard about bottleneck. It's long since become a buzzword.

XILENCE 750W PERFORMANCE A+III 750W,
This is apparently a Tier C psu, and psus age with use over time.

So that just ate into your ~$750 budget by at least $100 bucks.

Does that mean i have to change my psu?

Not necessarily, There is a super flower legion GX pro 750W for $75. That is a 25% difference.
If it's available, not being sold by some 3rd party seller, and not offering a discount under one of those darn mail-in rebates.

Does that mean i have to change my psu?
No, you can choose not to, but if you experience crashes or power offs, the psu would be the first place to look...

what do you mean by 3rd party seller?
For example, you buy from Amazon or Newegg, you see that 'sold and shipped by'?
You can have items sold and shipped by A/N, sold by a 3rd party and shipped by A/N, or sold and shipped by the 3rd party.
You pay more for items where a 3rd party is involved in the above 3 options.

what is so bad about mail-in rebates?
Nothing much, but they can be abused to make buyers pay full price for items.
There's that waiting period before the customer gets the credits, and... patience is really a virtue these days.

Hi Oskeii,

Your question aligns similarly to what I am thinking about. My advice is to go for the 7800XT. It costs less than a 7900XT and seems to have less issues than something like the 7900XTX.

The 7800XT is more than enough for 1440p. Your main concern for GPU, beside cost, would be utilization. Do you care about raw performance or fancy lighting? If raw performance, 7800XT. If fancy lighting (in some titles), 4070.

Disregard "bottle necking." Components are so powerful these days that it's irrelevant. This is coming from someone who used to be obsessed with the term.

Use pcpartpicker or any other wattage calculator to determine your necessary PSU wattage and add 50-100 to it for head room. I hope this helps.
