You never answered my question: If the G300 came out tomorrow, would having DX11 games matter then?just to ask you something will you buy gt 300 for 400$?
I'll answer your question. IF the G300 uses its new arch in spectacular ways both gpgpu and gfx, and IF the G300 actually can make its huge make up work and scale accordingly, then heck yes.
I have my doubts tho, as its using alot of those arch improvements for gpgpu usage, which doesnt transfer over to regular gfx at all in most cases from what Ive seen so far, and thats just the way it is.
So, buying a G300 to me at this point, looks to be a waste of silicon in part, as alot of its functionality, even tho it may be really great at gpgpu usage, I currently have no use for.
Also, its going to be huge, and I have even greater doubts about a 400$ price, and would be quite surprised if this were the price of this card from the get go, regardless of performance, and even moreso, if its a really 5xxx series killer.
Understand John_, I have no qualms buying whats the better scenario here, as long as the G300 really surprises, I'll be recommending it, and for gpgpu usage, for sure, without a doubt
