I was trying to play a few games I had downloaded and my old GraphicCard is the GTX750 Ti, but it apparently isnt good enough, so some of the games asked that I need a graphical card that has dx12, but I am not sure what graphic cards my motherboard (ASUS Z97-A) can take and or use.. (I am absolutely new to this, my pc was built by my brother about 4 ish yeard ago..) If anyone could help me out I would very very much appreciate it. Thank you!

Solution
Currently Im using (from what I could find on my control pannel) An, Intel(R) Core(MT) i7-4790k CPU @ 4.00Ghz 4.00 GHz. I would have to get back to you on the power supply since sadly I dont actually know(or how to check, ive searched google and dont have the means.), only my brother would know. But according to what he said to me a few years ago it is (quite powerful) meaning it takes a bit of juice to run but the PC is pretty decent playing at modern games with such an outdated graphics card, only some require dx12...
Also, is there no other higher Graphic cards I could get, other than the 980ti? From what I searched, because it was the first dx12 some games dont recognise it as such.. Is there any other a bit higher, that is...

The 980ti is a good deal. The 980ti performs about 30% better than the 1650 Super. When comparing the 980ti with the 1660ti, they are both about equal, with the 980ti performing slightly better in some games, and the 1660ti performing slightly better in others. The 1660ti costs $270, while the used 980ti costs $200. I feel like the 980ti is the logical choice. I personally got lucky a couple of months ago, and found a MSI manufactured 980ti that has a Corsair liquid cooler on it, and came with a factory-overclock for $190, and to me, it was an obvious choice. One thing to note is that the 980ti takes so much power it is ridiculous (250 watts max). The 980ti will be able to handle newer titles at 1080p @ 144hz, 1440p @ 60hz. Also notable is that the 980ti was the first card with DX12, and was the first "real" 4k 60 fps card.
A question I have for you is what CPU and power supply do you have?

Yeah, you could get a 2060 or 2060 KO, new for $300-$350. Your motherboard is not limited at all in the GPU it could take, as all PCIe generations are both forward and backwards compatible. I was just recommending the 980ti because I didn't know your budget, and it is a good budget card. If you want something higher than the 2060, you could get a 3070 for $500, which performs as well as a 2080ti.

You can find out power supply info, by opening the side panel, and looking at the sticker on the side of the power supply. Your board will support faster cards, than a 980ti. It really depends on your budget.

Oh sweet, it says CX600, thanks btw! Also, about my budget, around or at least under the $500 or $400 mark. Something like a gtx1080 or 1070 would do, if its compatible with my Motherboard. Ive looked on google now for the whole afternoon and I just cant find compatabilities and those that are apparently dont have dx12.. Like i said im pretty new to this, very, so im getting a bit off track. Any graphical card that is higher than the 980ti that also has dx12 and compatible with my Motherboard. Thanks in advance to you both btw!

In your instance, an RTX 3070 would be perfect, as it costs $500, and it has DirectX 12. All cards from the 980ti onwards have DX 12. Even if your motherboard has only PCIe Gen3, (the 3070 has Gen4), Gen 4 is compatible with Gen 3. It has the exact same connection and number of pins, just Gen 4 has a higher bandwidth. But, you won't really lose any performance.

Thanks so much for the recommendadions, im looking at them now RTX 2060 sounds really good both in price and performance! I might just get that one, Its only for the next 2 ish years until then I will try to learn more about PC hardwares to make my own. But youve been of tremendous help! i'll be sure to look up some latest RTX2060 and see if I can fit it in the PC.

Once again appreciate the help!

I would recommend a higher quality PSU, to start with. Those older Corsair CX were not very good, quality wise. With newer cards coming soon, I would maybe hold off on the GPU purchase a bit, if you can.
