What is a WIRED "wireless" access point?

I have ethernet jacks running to my basement router/WAP. The wireless has deadspots. I would like to wire a wireless access point into an upstairs ethernet jack to connect it to the basement router. I would set the new wireless access point to the same SSID and password. What is the name of this piece of hardware? Searching for "wired access point" only gets me wireless devices. What is this thing I need?
