I’m planning to upgrade form my gt710 ever since my gpu broke(rtx 3070)-

it broke for the first time then sent to repair and broke again after the repair(no video output)

What gpu should i get with my cpu? Im planning to upgrade my cpu in 1-2 years time.
I want play at 1080p high settings at 75hz if possible

Budget: under $250. No used(3070 was used),not
going to risk it anymore, wasted my savings that I saved for long time.

▶PC specs◀
CPU: Xeon e3-1270v3 (i7 4770)
CPU COOLER: Thermalright Assassin X 120 refined SE

GPU: MSI GT 710(ddr3) OC
-Core clock +350mhz
-Memory clock +375mhz
-Core voltage +25mV

PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF2 ARGB 650watt

Thank you for all your help

if you aren't against an AMD GPU, you could get a 6600XT for around 210-245. https://www.newegg.com/asrock-radeon-rx-6600-xt-rx6600xt-pgd-8g/p/N82E16814930064

That's your best bet, new. It's not going to touch the 3070, though. Literally like 40% slower. It will still be a massive improvement over a GT710, but that's not saying much.

Edit: I mean it's that or Intel ARC. An A750 8GB can be had for $200 and trades blows with the 6600XT, in case you're just adamantly against AMD. I'd stretch budget to the A770 16GB at $300 if I were going that route, though.

if his goal is just 75hz/fps at 1080p, the 6600xt will more than achieve that. there are very few games you wont get more than 75 frames in at 1080p with that kind of card. it's on par or better than a 3060 in most if not all games.

not at 1080p high. Besides, the 3060 has 12GB of VRAM meaning it will stay relevant for longer than the 6600xt, even though the 6600xt outperforms it be 8%.

there are videos proving you wrong, as they are always done at max settings. 6600xt consistently outperforms the 3060 by closer to 12-15%. the difference in VRAM will only be relevant in a few higher quality games that would even make use of that, and in those cases you can just lower your settings a bit so VRAM isn't an issue.

I’m not sure what games the OP plays, so I can’t be sure, but I don’t think there is any way either of those cards will run something like Alan Wake 2 at high settings.

like i said if a game has issues, just lower the settings. nobody is playing alan wake 2 though that game is ass.
