Question What is the sponge name thing under cpu fan and under the heatsink exahust

Under the cpu fan and the heatsink exhaust, there was a something that is like a light tape of sponge. But they are gone now. I think from heat.

Those pieces, what are the name of them and are there alternative I could use?
They act like support thing between the piece itself and underneath it, right?

From what I can tell by looking this is more in line with something blocking air from going that way than being a thermal pad. Probably just some thin foam.

I see, I thought it would act like a pillow and reduce vibrations, and the fan would make lower noise.
Okay, I guess it's not important thing. I wanted to make sure about what is it in case of selling the laptop. Because if it's important, I would try to get it before selling.
