Question what means DDR4-2400 bridge to DDR4-2133?

Hello, my notebook specification says that it supports this speed of ram memory, but I can't figure out what "Bridge" means in "DDR4-2400 bridge to DDR4-2133"?

I would assume it means that you can install the faster memory, but that it will run at the slower 2133 speed.

Yeah that is the most logical thing to assume, but if it supports only 2133mhz any memory speed that is higher than 2133, for example DDR4-2933, would be underclocked to 2133 anyway, so why mention specifically the 2400?

Good question. Maybe HP can answer this. I assume any memory faster than 2133 will be downclocked accordingly.

The motherboard only supports for maximum 2133Mhz with these Intel Core i7-7500U, i5-7200U, i3-6006U processors, so whatever RAM you put on above that it will be set to 2133Mhz
