Hi!

Upgrading my computer and one of the most troubling questions I have at hand is that I don't understand what is the difference between all the different models of motherboards in Z390 series.
I have read some threads and such but I have no final answer what motherboard I should get for gaming or what is the real difference between the boards. Main usage of the computer will be gaming and the other parts will be as follows.

Case: S340
Motherboard: Z390-?
CPU: i7-9700k
GPU: GTX 1070
Watercooling: EK A240

Solution
One of the practical aspects of the chipset is it defines the theoretical limits of the components you can install. The individual motherboards (of the same chipset) may have slight variations of what is theoretically allowable. For the most part this comes down to the number of USB ports, PCIe lane configurations and number of slots, and SATA ports.

There are, of course, the engineering aspects of how well the motherboard is made and quality of the components used to make it.

Performance-wise... there is some difference, but I personally don't think there's a lot in it (though if people are chasing for that slight advantage it is there).
