What monitor should i get at a $300 budget?

I'm planning on getting a new screen and gpu for 1080p @ 144Hz gaming. I really dont know much about monitors but i have played on a 144Hz at a friends house and it was a dream . Which monitor and gpu combo would you guys recommend. I play almostly eSport's title's and a lot of casual games like Ark Survival. I was thinking about a GTX 1080 ti.

For 1080 ti, you can get a 1440p 144Hz monitor, but I guess you don't want that.

In esports games you will be more than enough with a gtx1070 + 144hz 1080p but in ark you will not be able to pull 120fps + To get the maximum smoothness , if you won't play any other heavy games it would be wise to stick with the gtx1070 as the 1080ti would be a pure waste for your money and instead of getting the 1080ti grab the 24' 1440p 165hz from Dell, you won't regret it!
